I havent worked in a position that pays OT in a while but I imagine this can be a biznitch to figure out if you do. Especially those making 75-150% more of their original salary on OT.

Your withholdings won't be off that much if you're a traditional employee, and your quarterly payments aren't that difficult to miss by $50k if you're a 1099.

I'm sure there is some extenuating circumstance, but I'd like to know what it is.

I had a significantly larger Q4 than the first 3. Can't speak to why others owed that much.

Haven't hit send yet but we balanced fairly well this year by withdrawing extra every paycheck and we'll only owe ~500 this year. Going to wait til the last hour.

It could be a million things. If it was cap gains, doubt it was made in the stock market given the beating that was 2016.

Eh...just going off of what I've been told by clients and the returns I've done this year. None of our clients were making big money on short and long cap gains unless it was flow through.

You can deduct all that money you have to Gravy Chambers. Hope you didn't miss that one!

You don't "get" a return. You "file" a return. You get a "refund."

Anyone who uses "baw" in a post should know that....
