A church shouldn’t get help from FEMA. Maybe when we start taxing the offering plate

Good, that shite turned into a money grift with a quickness after it was formed. Government fricked it up with a quickness.
I followed every FEMA guideline when applying for (very minimal) assistance twice. I was denied twice. I witnessed several instances of obvious fraud net some people lots. Good riddance.

Coastal states would be better off if their respective governors worked to form a coalition to pool and deploy resources than to rely on a national govt agency to do so.

I don't think the US military is a model of fiscal efficiency.
They are the ones the led the way on cleanup efforts across the gulf coast after Katrina.

Russel Luke Honoré (/'?n?re?/ ON-?r-ay; born September 15, 1947) is a retired lieutenant general and who served as the 33rd commanding general of the U.S. First Army at Fort Gillem, Georgia. He is best known for serving as commander of Joint Task Force Katrina responsible for coordinating military relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina–affected areas across the Gulf Coast
quote:
He gained media celebrity and accolades for his apparent turning around of the situation in the city as well as his gruff management style which contrasted with what many felt were the empty platitudes of civilian officials. In one widely played video clip, Honoré was seen on the streets of New Orleans, barking orders to subordinates and, in one case, berating local police officers who were displaying their weapons as they rode past him. "Weapons down! Weapons down, damn it!" Honoré shouted. New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin was quoted on a radio interview on September 1, 2005, saying: "Now, I will tell you this—and I give the president some credit on this—he sent one John Wayne dude down here that can get some stuff done, and his name is Gen. Honoré. And he came off the doggone chopper, and he started cussing and people started moving. And he's getting some stuff done."
But but muh FEMA. FEMA was a failure after Katrina.

I tried to do Jeff Landry in a pirogue as George Washington saving us from the floods. It gave me this....

Good luck with those flood insurance rates once NFIP gets abolished along with FEMA

Good. After Hurricane Laura they wouldn't help you if you did the right thing and had insurance. They only helped, well, you know.

Needs to be phased out. Agree with everything that was said . Add to the fact that it's filled with DEI hires that seem to have an agenda. Not many people will be sad to see it go if the money can be handled better by the states.

Trump is still making sure that you will pay the government more money though. Just taking away another service from you.

That is what happens when you're 36 trillion in debt. Bill has to be paid.

Also, the feds didn't pay for our roof to be replaced, just the insurance deductible. However, the hurricane deductible was in the 6 figure range.
better hope that roof holds up next time, b/c seems like there won't be any reimbursement, no matter how small, in the future.... pass that collection plate a few extra times in the months to come, seems like y'all may wanna start another building fund or something...
