spot on
when I found out what some of these partners make, my head spun. it's fricking crazy.
not unusual to hear of the big dogs going way beyond $1million/year.
not bad for a bachelors degree, prof cert, and extremely strong work ethic.

unless you are in ITS or M&A......my understanding is that those are the more creative branches.

ITS...what abbreviation is this? When you get into the Advisory arms (e.g., forensics, financial management) things can be much more interesting. The Transaction arms are definitely more lively but the deal size is typically much smaller than BB firms and the pay is much less than the IB firms.
The Risk advisory groups that do 'audit support' like SAS70 and SOX 1 reports are arguably even more dull than audit. Test of controls so that auditors can build out the testing plans...no thanks (even though it is an important role in the process).

Why some of you frickers work 70+ hours a week is beyond me. frick that. I enjoy something called LIFE. By all means continue to grab your ankles in agony.

My wife is the accountant......I manage the south Texas operations of an engineering firm and work around 32 hrs a week.
That said, if something hits and its required, I will have to work nonstop to address it and I am essentially on-call at all times (kinda like a business owner). I am also on the hook for everything associated with my office.
Its not the hours, but my arse on the line that hits home.
