Girlfriends dad fussed for this. Table was not in a formal setting. Was sitting on couch and decided to prop my feet up, is this unacceptable manners?

Yes, rude. How well do you know these people? First time over there?

I'd have told you something as well had you done that at my house. My furniture is not for putting feet on. Especially when you still have shoes on your feet. Did you still have shoes on?

Walk softly until you know what's kosher.

You got bold and it backfired.

He fussed because you can't speak.

Grow some manners. I'm guessing you text when you pull up?

It was after dinner and I was full, but y'all do make good points. I'd probably be thrown off by it if I was in his position

Politely tell him you're sorry and then put them up on the sofa where they belong.

Sounds like he is letting you know he is the alpha male. Next time he isn't there rub your balls on it.

it is totally unacceptable...

need to be a lot more careful until you figure out what is acceptable and what is not. if you don't think your girlfriend would put her feet on the coffee table, then you shouldn't do so either...
