She hasn’t publicly said anything yet so she might actually be listening to her lawyers and has STFU. She has a teenage daughter whose father has passed away. Daughter will be without any parent for a period of time. Probably best Teedy makes a plea deal and minimize prison time …. But Teedy might think she can beat this.
This bitch isn't going to spend a day in prison.
There is no more justice in this country. There really never has been.

She'll end up in Oakdale for a few years

You're right, she's not going to plead guilty or resign....
In her mind, she has done nothing wrong, she is entitled to everything and the US Atty just hates strong black women!
She will defend all strong black women in court

I hope you are right, but I think she will get off with probation or found not guilty. We all know why

Court filings suggest the defense strategy will hinge on proving diminished capacity, arguing that Vappie’s judgment was so impaired he slept with Cantrell numerous times, several of which reportedly occurred with the lights on.
I'd buy diminished capacity.

There's been several black and white politicians from New Orleans that went to jail....dont say because shes not staying out of jail bc shes a black woman...that shite is played out
William Jefferson, who was convicted of bribery in 2009 and sentenced to 13 years after FBI agents seized $90,000 in cash from his freezer. Also making national headlines was the indictment of former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, the only other of the city's mayors to face corruption charges. Nagin took his chances with a jury and was convicted in 2014 on 20 counts of bribery, money laundering and other charges.
Just one local politician in recent memory has beat federal charges. That was Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams, who was acquitted of tax evasion in 2022 and remains in office.
Another revived his political career. New Orleans City Council member Oliver Thomas, who pleaded guilty to a bribery charge in 2007 and served a three-year prison sentence, was elected to the District E seat and is now running for mayor. Thomas was serving in at-large seat at the time of his conviction.
Other New Orleans City Council members sentenced to prison time have included Renee Gill Pratt and Jon Johnson. Gretna City Council member Jonathan Bolar was convicted of extortion and other financial crimes in 2010, garnering a 17-year sentence. He was released last October and died four months later. Former Jefferson Parish Council member Chris Roberts died of an apparent suicide while under indictment in 2020.
Aaron Broussard the former Jefferson Parish president spent 46 months in various federal facilities after pleading guilty to corruption.
Two years before Nagin’s conviction, former Jefferson Parish President Aaron Broussard pleaded guilty to bribery, wire fraud and theft charges, resulting in a four-year sentence. Broussard was released in 2016 and started a prison ministry.
A slew of St. Tammany Parish officials have also served time for corruption.
Former District Attorney Walter Reed was sentenced to four years in 2016. Former Coroner Peter Galvan received a two-year sentence in 2012. And former Mandeville Mayor Eddie Price was sentenced to 64 months in 2010.

Former St. Tammany Sheriff Jack Strain’s crimes went beyond corruption. He was sentenced to life in prison after state convictions for eight sex crimes, including rape, aggravated incest and molestation of a juvenile. He later received an additional 10 year federal sentence on bribery charges.
Another former sheriff, Jiff Hingle of Plaquemines Parish, was sentenced to 46 months on a single conspiracy conviction in 2013.
Two Jefferson Parish judges -- Ronald Bodenheimer and Alan Green -- were ensnared in the nine-year "Operation Wrinkled Robe" investigation in the early 2000s.
And former St. Bernard Parish Judge Wayne Cresap received a five-year sentence for bribery in 2010 as part of an unrelated investigation.

she lied to her staff
she lied to the press
she lied to the council
she lied to the FBI
she lied to the grand jury
i do believe she does think she's entitled to do whatever she wants, but she knew if she got caught she'd be in deep doodoo. if she lies on the stand, her 2 year stay in camp white collar will be much longer

Accountability hasn't been attained yet, but at least there's a chance now. We just have to make her pay so that at the very least we don't get another mayor so brazen and unapologetically mean spirited and cocky as she was. It made doing anything of substance almost impossible.

It's an appeal. It's not like she's got a civil case in which she's about to testify. I'd like to read the request she filed and the reasons given.
She could possibly get an extension of time to file, but I don't think it would be indefinite.

the district level judge threw out the lawsuit when cantrell didnt show up for court, and ordered her to pay the defendant's legal fees of 15,000. cantrell appealed to the circuit court, who upheld the lower court and ordered an additional 8,000 legal fees reimbursement. the appeal to the state supreme court won't ever be heard
the defendant in that case has countersued cantrell and the city, and that case is still pending

I'm aware of that, but the appeal is not a trial was my point.

my bad..I gotcha
Even in a civil case they still have to give depositions under oath...unless that's all been done and they dont have to do that again in the appeal

Breaud's attorney issued the following statement on her behalf:
"Yesterday afternoon, New Orleans City Attorney Donesia Turner, and other attorneys from the City’s Law Department filed a Second Motion to Stay the Proceedings in the above referenced civil rights lawsuit filed on July 26, 2024, by Anne W. Breaud against Mayor LaToya W. Cantrell, her Chief of Staff, Clifton Davis II, and the City of New Orleans surrounding the fabricated, patently false, perjurious and defamatory Petition for Protection from Stalking that Cantrell filed against Ms. Breaud in Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans on May 10, 2024.
"You may recall that the defendants previously attempted to stay these proceedings in September of 2024 but were denied said relief because at the time, Cantrell refused to acknowledge that she was a target in a federal investigation.
"While the City Attorney’s actions on behalf of the defendants in this federal lawsuit are not a surprise, they are nevertheless disappointing as the federal court is likely to grant the requested stay until the conclusion of Cantrell and Vappie’s criminal trial that will address the Superseding Indictment handed down by the federal grand jury on Friday, August 15, 2025 in the matter of United State v. Jeffrey Paul Vappie II, and LaToya Cantrell, USDC, EDLA No. 24-CR-00165.
"Chief Judge Nannette Jolivette Brown will consider the defendant’s motion and Ms. Breaud’s to-be-filed opposition thereto on or after September 3, 2025. In the interim, Anne Breaud will seek leave of court to further amend her complaint against the current defendants, as well as to add Jeffrey Vappie as a defendant in this suit given the revelations disclosed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana this past Friday in the Superseding Indictment."

Yep.
I still can't get over Vappie's attorney saying he needed to be able to be in contact with Teedy because he had a personal relationship with her.
