I don't see much debate about it not being planned.
I got money on radicalized employee shooting up his workmates because he knew he could pull that off.
Y'all can join Team Workplace Terrorism if you want and be right no matter what happens now.

...because he knew they wouldn't be armed. Terrorists are all about soft, unarmed targets.

Where did I say his name should not be released?
You didn't, and I agree that this is a terrorist act.
I'm just trying to understand why the coverage of terrorism or Columbine should be different? Most people agree that mass murderers should have their names and pictures kept out of the news to deprive them of the media coverage they usually seek. I would assume that terrorist have a similar hope, yet their have been multiple threads and posts asking for the names and pictures of these guys to be plastered across the TV.
What is the difference?

Prior to this PC, was it known on here that there were explosives at the site of the shooting? That was news to me.

Oh, so now it's a Muslim Bonnie and Clyde thing.

So if it is a "traditional" mass murder, we don't want his name/picture released, but if it is "terrorism" we want that shite plastered all over the TV? I don't get the double standard.
No we want a news outlet to be consistent.

It didn't seem like she was refuting terrorism but more like there is nothing to fear from immigrants. Towing the GOPe line of mass amnesty.
Kind of like shite just happens.
Kind of like shite just happens.

MSNBC is saying that the NYT is reporting that Syed traveled to Saudi Arabia to meet his wife after meeting her online.

I see what you mean.
A crazed murderer inspires other crazy murderers
Terrorists inspire other terrorists.
I suppose, putting terrorist on TV lets us know about a deliberate threat which has a premeditated, planned strategic goal, etc.
Hiding the other(crazed shooters) is to stop giving other loons the idea to go for it and be famous
I like thought exercises.

CNN's coverage of this is absolutely terrible.

The event itself draws media coverage and creates public fear....which is the purpose of terrorism. Not releasing the names of the suspects won't change that. Terrorists depend on media coverage to maximize public fear and outrage.

Mentally ill people are attracted to the idea of some sort of recognition. They a tough time fitting into society and they view violent outbursts as a form of recognition/validation. So yea we don't want to feed into that mindset. Jihadist on the other hand are winning the public opinion campaign. Sure, CNN isn't touting ISIL but MSM is doing a great job of trying to obscure the facts that currently large percentages of the muslim faith (may not commit terrorist action) condone violence towards non-moslems. Its important to understand the motivation so we, as a nation, can counter with the appropriate response. The world is more complicated than you trying to say it is, but you sound like a progressive so I highly doubt you care about facts or nuance, so long as the "narrative" continues unimpeded

I don't need to be reminded of commonly known facts.

So they probably had this in mind all this time. Probably wanted to pull something bigger, but this was as big as they could manage.
