When I was a kid "Georgia Championship Wrestling" on Saturday with the great Gordon Sole calling it was the best.On WTBS,I guess.
I loved the one that came on Saturday Night around 10 pm.It was probably held in a VFW in Anniston,AL.Low budget.

Crazy to think that back in the mid to late 90's, WCW Monday Night Nitro was 3 hours long, from 7-10pm.

I also liked the NWA around 89-90 when Flair and Steamboat (and later Funk) were feuding over the big gold belt, Luger and Hansen feuded over the US belt, and Stibg and Muta feuded over the TV belt. The tag team division was on fire with teams the The Road Warriors, Midnight Express, Varsity Club, Doom, Freebirds, Steiners, etc. Had the whole Black Scorpion angle (even though the end result sucked) and Halloween Havoc where Windham shaved his head and painted his face as Sting and purposely lost to Sid. Missy Hyatt hosted Saturday Night and was fine as hell - I even had her calendar. Ahh, good times.

WCW during the wars until the fingerpoke of doom. Then it was all down hill for them. The turning of Hogan was just incredible.

I grew up on NWA Jim Crockett Promotions. That period from 1985-1990 was insane.
- Four Horsemen: Best stable of all-time during that period. nWo and D-X were great for two years, Horsemen carried the company
- War Games
- Tag Teams: Rock n Roll vs. Midnight Express vs. Road Warriors vs. Tully & Arn
- Flair vs. Dusty, Steamboat, Funk, Sting, Muta
- Young Jim Cornette, Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross on commentary
- The Saturday morning promos on TBS
Outside of that, there's no topping the 96-99 WCW/WWF battle with ECW delivering solid shows in the rear view.
Was also a fan of Smoky Mountain Wrestling from 1992-95. Saw earliest days of Kane, Jericho, Lance Storm, Road Dogg, Taz, Al Snow, D-Lo, Gangstas, Sunny and Candido, Balls Mahoney and more.

I have to go with NWA/Jim Crockett. It's hard to beat the original War Games concept with the Horsemen, Midnight and Rock N Roll Express, Road Warriors, Sting.

It was the highest rated show but they were paying shite tons of money to a bloated roster of wrestlers. Dudes were making 1m per that didn't even get put on the card.

Nitro peaked at the Georgia Dome with Goldberg/Hogan. Blew their load on that and downhill from there.

Yeah, and to that point, Nitro was so obsessed with beating Raw in Monday Night ratings, they did the Goldberg/Hogan then instead of cashing in big with PPV buys. There was also the Halloween Havoc where the DDP main event didn't even get shown because they ran over time and had to refund everyone.

Incredibly short-sighted on WCW's part. There was a window of opportunity for them to put WWE out but they couldn't get out of their own way. Props to Vince for turning things around the way he did.
