What do people do that are impaired? They make bad decisions. Almost anyone who has been drunk has made bad decisions. It does not make you a killer.
Well in this case, he was a killer. That doesn't necessarily mean his own life should be taken though, and if the persecution can prove that the father shot the driver then he should absolutely be convicted. I don't think the prosecution can come anywhere near proving its case though.

It kinda does. Homeboy knew before he started drinking where his car was and he needed to get home.
I'd like to circle back on the pedo thing. I've given it some thought and that is much worse...

No problem with him being convicted....and given a couple years probation. All the drunk drivers out there can just add a father coming to kill you as a reason not to DnD.

It would be interesting to see if Texas law provides that someone driving while intoxicated is presumptively at fault for any accident. If not, the driver may not have even been convicted for the deaths of the two boys. I could easily see how a sober driver would hit two people pushing a truck on a small rural highway in the middle of the night and not be at fault.

Manslaughter is a lot better than murder.
Let's play Devils Advocate. 2 lane road late at night and 2 vehicles collide in a head on collision. Police determine vehicle "a" crossed the centerline into vehicle "b" killing the passenger in vehicle "b". The driver at fault is sober and the other driver is drunk...who is the murderer?

Of course I have no evidence, just a vibe.
That's debatable. Seems like he might be drunk all the time with the dumb shite he says. It's pretty damn amusing actually. I never thought that anybody could be this stupid, but I think TH03 has actually proven me wrong.

Why are you so quick to insult people? It leads me to believe not all is well in TH03's real life.

It's unfortunate, but it doesn't matter. It's premeditated murder.

dude you can't even fulfill this request:
I wouldn't be calling people stupid if I were you.
quote:
please tell me how a drunk driver actively intends on killing someone.
keyword: actively, implying it was on purpose.
note: actively is not the same as passively, which could describe an accident.

Odd so many are calling for his conviction and incarceration. Yet if someone merely molested your daughter or son you no doubt would want vigilante justice.
Drinking and driving and killing someone isn't intending on killing someone. Its a horrible accident.
Someone sick enough to do that to kids isn't an accident and it can't be fixed by spending time in jail. They like what they like...it's not like robbing a bank and learning a lesson. They will molest again so i'm fine with them getting taken out.

Definitely not premeditated murder.
Careful, there are a lot of graduates from the OT school of law here.

Based on the evidence they have? In this case?
I can't see it...
Or did you mean in the rhetorical sense of some father killing the drunk who killed his kids

I agree that pedophiles are worse, but drinking and driving is something that isn't easily fixed either in many cases. That piece of shite who killed seven people drinking and driving outside of BR? That was his third or fourth DWI, I believe. Some people are incorrigible, no matter what their crime is.

I'd have a lot more sympathy if he was Tboned by a drunk driver. Having his kids push a broken down truck at a very slow speed down a dark road is just begging to get rear ended, sober or not.
He can't leave the truck 50 yards from his home and retrieve it the next day? The guy has to make his preteen kids push it all the way home, in harms way?

People texting and driving to be just as dangerous as any impaired driving. But that would prob get a much easier pass on here than the emotions drunk driving brings. Neither person intended to murder anyone
