BMI is relatively meaningless for athletes. I run 30 miles a week and sit about 25 BMI.
You must either lift a lot or have a crappy diet. If you really run 30 miles a week, you shouldn't be anywhere near a 25 BMI.

Doubtful. You've probably just been conditioned to think your weight is ok.

I always carry my 10 Value Menu Burger King double cheeseburgers and 4 Value Menu french fries in a Gold's Gym bag.

quote:'Fat' is relative but at a 29 bmi you almost certainly look at least a little overweight (yes, I know bmi isn't a great way to measure individuals but still). A lot of chunky Americans are walking around thinking they look skinny simply because so many other Americans are even fatter than them.
My BMI is 29 and you'd have a hard time calling me fat.

BMI is a horrible system of measurement if you lift weights.

LOL from the BS food pyramid we were "fed" for nearly 50 years? That thing CAUSES obesity.

99% of the people lifting weights and bitching about BMI being a bad measure are overweight

Now you're just trolling.

Well because the food pyramid is an absolute joke. The average American should be eating nowhere near the amount of grains the pyramid recommends.
pretty sure Burger King isn’t on the food pyramid no matter what else is on it

The 25 number was stupid even though I agree with your premise in theory. BMI of 40 is actually what is considered to be “extremely overweight”. But if you put the number at 35-38 I could still go with it. But you would have to tax smokers, drinkers, and skinny people
who eat bad.
who eat bad.
