Family adopts stray dog that saved their three year old

In Sevier County TN, a dog that wandered into a neighborhood and in three days earned the nickname Oreo intervened to stop another stray who was charging at their three year old.
The family took the child to safety, and the good dog to the Vet. They then adopted the bandaged up dog as the child's third birthday present.
Good dog and good people.

The only blue heeler I have ever known was mean as frick. I'll repeat, MEAN AS frick.
