False Rape Accusations

Just read a post on reddit about a male college freshman being accused on sexual assault/rape. Some scary shite. Have any OTers known someone get accused of sexual assault/rape while in college?
And this is from an older study on false rape accusations:
As a single guy/professional, this is some scary shite. Definitely makes me think twice about casual hookups.

My son is 5 years from going to college and this issue scares the hell out of me for him. It's got to the point I think all parents should sit their later teen years age sons down and have a frank talk to them about the dangers they face regarding false rape accusations.

It's scary. I'm not even sure what a guy can do to protect himself. Let's say you talk with a girl on tinder, she comes over that night, you both hook-up, and she regrets it in the morning. Your friends don't know her. She's just a random girl. What happens when she makes an accusation?

I had the above tinder scenario happen a week or so ago. Obviously with no accusation.
But I was thinking, if she did make an accusation, how would our tinder conversation benefit me? It would just show that she was interested, possibly dtf, and wanted to hang out.

I would think that would be enough in this case, but I'm obviously not a lawyer. Tinder is just there for hookups, you match, and agree to meet at your place, then she says she was "raped"
question to ask at this point is
1. why would a girl NEED to be raped? she went someplace to hookup.
would suck for the girl who actually got somehow wronged in this scenario but it would be enough for me to toss out the case

It just shows mutual interest and that she came over. Anything beyond that point is your word vs. hers.
