Back in the late 70's I was involved in a softball tournament and our team was at bat. The guy hits a high fly ball in the gap between right and center field and both players were hell bent to get the ball.
They collided just like that and both had to be carted off the field, one with a concussion and the other with a mouthful of broken teeth. Scary as hell watching those two collide like that.

Best I got is that when I played 11-12 year-old Dixie Youth, our pitcher was hit directly on his forehead with a line drive. He was KNOCKED OUT. I was playing first base so I was the first person to get to him. You could actually see the stitches from the ball in his forehead. Needless to say, he was taken out of of the game after he came to.
