Hognose snake. It'll play dead if you frighten it. If you turn it over it'll flip on its back again. Apparently it thinks it looks more dead upside down.

It's a kinetic strap. You're supposed to take off as quickly as possible. The line stretches and applies more and more force over the few feet of stretch.
It's also the only chance for removing that stuck vehicle without a lot of digging.
The worst possible thing you can do when trying to remove a vehicle stuck in sand is to take up all slack in a traditional strap and then attempt to pull.
Edit: for anyone who uses them... I can't recommend bubba ropes enough

I had a few as a kid. Had no idea they are actually venomous. They have back fangs with a venom designed for frogs. You can get invenomated and be just fine but they never bite from my experience. Love when they puff up like a cobra.
