I'm not saying that particular gif is real or not, just that this statement is silly.
As someone who has done lots of special effects over 40 years, the odds of this being faked that well for a throwaway gif on the Internet is remote to the extreme.

I’ve witnessed Cocomo brick many threes in his hey day.

I don't remember who you are IRL, but those were some awesome games in the PMAC.
ETA: And even the way the ball bounces off of her head doesn't look legit either.
My favorite part though is still that your initial post about it got upvoted to shite and I got downvoted to shite for simply agreeing with you.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, but how many shots from the logo have you taken in the PMAC?

I know he can't beat this one for shots made from half court in the PMAC-
Auburn at LSU, 1987. I was filling in on trumpet in the basketball band for the game because one of the other trumpet players had an exam that evening. The "Mike the Tiger" mascot was one of my good friends who played trumpet in marching band, but had taken over the role of the mascot for his final semester before graduation Toward the end of halftime, as the players were starting to come back on the court to warm up for the second half he started shooting layups and missing every one of them. He gave up and walked to center court with a basketball, tossed it (no look) over his right should from the logo and caught nothing but net. Joe Dean would have called it "striiiiiiiing music!"
The game had been carried by CBS that night and the shot made the rounds through the sports shorts for the rest of the night. After the game we met up with him at either The Library or The Bayou just off campus to celebrate.
I don't know if he posts here or not. He's undoubtedly the most over-the-top LSU fan I have ever known. He's now a retired Air Force LTC after having spent a career as a Missileer. And now that I think of it, he'll be sixty next Tuesday.
Anyway - THAT'S a bonafide story of shotting hoops at the PMAC.
