quote:There are specific drive cycle instruction that have to complete. It’s worth while to look them up beforehand as some vehicles are very convoluted.
Drive like 40/50 miles and you should be good. Do it all the time
Until those uses of the vehicle are registered, it will still read incomplete.

throttle body assembly
Maybe a shop with a computer is quicker but I changed it my self. RPMs were crazy for a while.

If you live in BR man hit me up, I work at a GM dealership I can diag and prob fix it for you on the side..
Anytime you clear engine Codes you wipe out all the test which it can take 30+ Miles to run the test I know for a fact one of the test runs won’t even start until you between 1/4 - 3/4 of fuel in the vehicle… same goes for unplugging the battery all your doing is wiping out all the test in which case you have to drive the vehicle and meet certain conditions so it runs the test

its a shame the truck doesnt have wheels on it so he can drive 20 minutes to another parish without emission tests to get his brake tag
Nope, other parishes will not inspect it. If the vehicle is register in East Baton Rouge parish it has to be inspected in EBR parish because of the emissions test, it is also why the inspection in EBR is $18 bucks instead of $10

1. Next time you need to fill up use premium gas. Maybe add an octane booster. The check engine/emission lights like high octane.
2. Get the code reset and drive the required mileage your shop told you was needed. Then go straight there and leave the vehicle running. It won’t come back on until the vehicle restarts.
3. Get new sticker
4. Buy me a hooker

I didn’t know people worried about grace periods with inspection stickers
Yeah occasionally I've looked down and thought damn, that thing has been expired for a year

To have DTC's set for both sensors suggest something in common. Both Bank 1 & 2 heated sensors have independent logic inputs to the VCM. However, they both share common supplied voltage to the heated section of their respective sensors.
They also share the same ground point.
IIRCC, the voltage comes from a fuse (Eng) in the relay center. 20Amp? Maybe check and do a voltage check at that point and then find the common ground from the sensors and look for corrosion in that area.
Just a starting point. HTH.

I thought it was standard for these shops to turn the vehicle off to plug the reader in and then start back up. They do inspections while the car still runs now?

Shoot me a email jhall31632@gmai
If memory serves me right should be able to reset the heated O2’s and reprogram the ECM, clear it out and have you fill the gas with top Tier fuel (I.E. shell, chevron, Exxon) and put a full cleaner in it BG 44k is great and I have a few spare at work… I think this should resolve your issue

quote:. You need to google how to reset the drive cycle… it requires changing speeds for some of them, driving so long under a certain speed and over a certain speed. I believe you can have 1 or 2 still flashing and still pass. Leave your code scanner plugged in until the drive cycle has been reset then pull in and get sticker. Took me about 30 miles to do this one time
Thanks for all the comments. Code P1133 and P1153. After repairs reset codes and drove for 112 miles. Took in for inspection sticker and was told didn't drive it far enough. Drove 20 more miles and the light back on. Reset codes, removed battery cable and then drove for 40 miles back on again.
FYI I live in EBR Parish and can't just take to another parish for inspection without vehicle and driverslicense being registered in that parish...Guess it's dealer now.

My brake tag expired in 2016.
About a year ago I took a razor and took it off.
Police never check or care about this shite any more

I bought a car that was previously registered in Florida. Tint was dark as hell. Tried to get inspection & they gave me the temporary failed. Then Covid hit & I never did anything about it. Eventually pulled the failed sticker off. A year later. I wrecked it & got replacement vehicle. Haven’t gotten sticker on it yet & it’s been 6 months. I’m starting to think it’s an overlooked thing. It might be worth a $360 fine just to see how many years I can go without one

But doesn’t the original problem cycle back on unless fixed?
Posted on 10/19/21 at 11:18 pm to justjoe906
I’ve seen cars that have had an inspection sticker expired for years

Just take side roads to avoid any brake tag checkpoints.
