exercise in survival. short term. long term.

I'm in northern California.
we are getting our third blizzard in a little more than a week, starting friday.
tomorrow i charge the battery the generator needs.
i need to buy fresh gas for the generator.
I'm going to get cable version of chains.
I've used chains here before but I hope to get out with cable before chains is required. the darndest thing is other drivers make it more difficult. this last one so many semis jackknifed they just shut the only low elevation escape route.
the mountain passes become impassable.
last one wrecked some neighbors houses, carports could not handle the weight because you got 6 inches of snow and then a cold light rain. that freezes.
and then it snows a couple inches. then it rains.
my friends live higher up.
20 inches last one.
more rugged living than I want.
my trees dropped 100 nuts during the last one.
i need to sweep them up before it snows.
long term.
I'm trying to decide on Honolulu or Dominican republic. maybe l.a.
i need to get my winter boots out.
