Howevever, since Covid the line for "being sick" has apparently been moved way up. People will start their excuse "i dont want to get everyone else sick"

It makes me chuckle every single time. Id rather you just lie and say you want to burn the sick days honestly.

If they’ve earned the time, they should be able to use it as they please IMO. If they’re taking unpaid leave, I understand but otherwise it shouldn’t be anyone’s business what they burn their earned PTO over.

Break out the vitamin C. Wives tale

You may think this but…

(Posted in another thread regarding supplements)

“I can tell you this. I worked in the nutrition industry for 18 years. I have been taking certain supplements and vitamins daily for decades. I VERY rarely get sick. I can count the times on one hand since college. I’m 54 now. Minimal alcohol consumption has also been a factor. I attribute it a lot of it but not entirely to the consumption of vitamin C. 1000mg per day minimum. 2000 minimum during flu season. 5000 if I feel like something is off.”

Same people that trust Vit C to prevent and cure illness also believe in routine enema cleansing and daily apple cider vinegar.

If you’re around immunocompromised people, you don’t want to spread it to them if you have Covid. Too many inconsiderate people out there.

Then stay home if you are sick. Don't go near them. Even if you are deemed covid negative, are you still going to go around someone when you are sick?

Should an hourly worker forego their paycheck because they have the sniffles?

You're a teacher? Thank you for your service. Behind "stay at home mommy," that's the hardest job anyone can do

Dave Ramsey conducted a study of 10,000 millionaires and teachers were in the top 5 of millionaire positions. Don't want to hear it.

Have you had any issue with kidney stones as a result?

I can’t do that much at a time or it irritates my stomach.

The flu isn’t the sniffles. If you’re running a fever with upper respiratory stuff or test positive for the flu, then yeah stay home. Nobody wants that shite.

No. You can't go to work with the sniffles?

I just said that. I dont care if you burn the hours, just dont lie about it. If you lie about something that insignificant what else can you be lying about?

It sounds like they’re going to get shite if they don’t have a “valid” reason to take the PTO.

I can. It's just frustrating that since covid if someone sneezes at work they are an a-hole for not staying home. 5 years ago you didn't stay home unless you had the bedridden for 7 days version of flu.

You should ask your boss to lower your salary to that of a teacher since you have so much free time that you can post on TD.

I only do 1000mg at a time. If I do more I spread it out during the day.

As for kidney stones, i have not. I drink 100ish oz of water per day and have for decades. That MAY be why I haven’t but I’ve also just had a healthy diet most of my life.
