My kids have no desire to go back, thank God. I think their favorite part was the pool at the disney animations resort where we stayed. I felt like it was a shite ton of money we wasted considering it wasn't even all that 'magical' for my kids.
Man that sucks to hear. The wonder and amazement in my kids' eyes while we are there is worth it all. But at least your vacation budget doesn't have to suffer like mine

Ok, you can’t hate Disney and go because your kids love it…. But that’s not what you said.
You said WDW is “awesome”
This is some pride level of grasping at straws

I trash "Disney culture" a lot
But...I enjoyed it when we took our oldest a couple of months ago. There were definitely weird people there (when the groups of adults take longer than families with kids at character breakfasts...), but all in all well worth it. People who'd rather go to Disney than take their family abroad will always be weird to me, but whatever. Looking forward to taking my younger kids when the time comes, actually.

That is what I was hoping to see from them and if they were I couldn't tell. They were great ages for it too. 6 and 8

You are aware you can say No and not vacation there?
Posted on 7/11/25 at 10:41 am to themetalreb
nobody ever goes there. it's too crowded.

would bet that most of the people on here that bitch about disney world have never been to disney world.
We went last summer and spent a small fortune between just getting in the park, hotel, food, airfare, transportation... Over only 7 days, and 3 park days.
This summer we are taking a 2 week vacation out west to see Rocky Mountain National Park, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Oregon trail etc, at nicer hotels with better food than at Disney and are somehow spending less than 7 days at Disney.
The math does not math. There's better places to go for the same dollars.

I’m not a fan of Disney but I took my kids to magic kingdom this summer. They loved it. There seemed to be more people there without kids than with kids.

I dont think anyone is disputing that.

I took the kids during Thanksgiving week when they were 14 and 9. The next summer they asked me about going back, I gave them a choice between WDW and a Fort Morgan beach house, including a day at the water park, and they could each bring a friend. We never went back to Dismal World.

We have stayed there, and it is alright. I prefer to stay on the monorail. The Polynesian is our favorite. We are staying at the Grand Floridian next year.

kids have no idea how much their parents sacrifice.

Rite of passage for the kid will keep parents going

I’ve taken my kids to Disney like 8 or 9 times. Going again next April.

Disney sucks.
Not just the park(s), Disney overall just plain sucks.

There are so many grown ups including young adults who go by themselves. Last time i was at Disneyland, there was a line to meet Winnie the Pooh. There were people in their 30s, 40s without kids. The Disney experience is supposed to be passed onto your kids, not for you to hold it.

What does this even mean?
WDW is awesome. So are Disney cruises.
