Let's see. When I was a prep cook at Old Faithful Inn at Yellowstone Nat'l Park, I got in a verbal argument with a black cook who was from Chicago. It was the usual about the difference of opinion of how to proceed with prepping for that day. As the argument got heated, we started yelling at each other. He called me the 'N' word which puzzled me since I'm white. But it also pissed me off because I absolutely hate calling anybody the 'N' word. I told him that that was way below the belt. Soon both of us had kitchen knives chasing each other around the kitchen. It so happened that the head chef was showing some new employees around the kitchen while we were making this god-awful racket. I don't know how we didn't kill each other.
I think that was an altercation that got a little out of hand.

No sir, cutting a bitch who implies you are black is acceptable.

Made me think of the time in Memphis when the owner of a Chinese restaurant got in an argument with a long time kitchen employee. Owner went into the dining room and the cook followed him with a kitchen knife and stabbed and cut him in front of all the customers. Dead owner and cook in the pen.

Usually it's just me getting out of hand on my side...no one is going to get out of pocket with me cause they know I'll make them kick rocks in a heartbeat....but I 100% apologize if I feel I have been too hard on someone or raised my voice unnecessarily....it doesn't happen often, usually triggered by stupidity or saying something like, "that's not my job" like we are some union or something....I've had to counsel and play UN on a few higher level squabbles but nothing too crazy. I did break up a pushing scrap between my old boss and the sales Mgr before I took over my boss's job...I wanted it to definately continue into an arse whooping but the office ladies were about to call the police so figured we didn't need that type of crap....they continued to lip it out the rest of the day but never got physical again.....ahhhhh the good ole days before HR!!!!

A few times.
One time I was working with an outside crew stabbing some pilons. The guy running the crane just lined me up on how to do it. Along comes by boss and tries to tell me another way. My boss stands around for a minute and I proceed to do it like the crane operator, also owner of the pile driving wanted. My boss called me a stupid mother fricker. I said "Jim" best thing you can do right now is get the frick out my face, if not going to wrap this fricking level around your head. He walked off and never raised his voice at me again. Ended up being his assistant leaderman for a little while.
Ive seen a few fist fights too.

before katrina hit the majority of framing crews were all rednecks. i'd see at least 2 fights a month on my job site. their boss would let them go at as long as it was only fists.

Used to be in retail. Had 2 employees joking with each other when one took it serious. Pulled a knife and tried to stab the other one.
Pretty intense. Right in front of the store with customers walking around.

I put a Trump sticker on a hard core liberals locker. Once he saw it he blew up and started throwing stuff and dropping F bombs. I couldn't help but to laugh. Then he walked by me giving me a shoulder bump. After 10 minutes I went and found him. I told him I did it and let's go to the locker room to talk about it like men. He refused and said no way. So in front of several co workers I told him it would not be a good idea to do that again because I'm a lot bigger than you. He said ok we are not friends anymore. I said what are you a woman. Of course we are still friends.

Yes, and our boss said we'd both be fired if it got physical! Well, the other guy was doing fricking up data (because he was a dumbass) that I had to use and the frickups could affect my job performance, etc.
