The stupidest shite I've read in this thread yet. If the puppy is thirsty it should be able to drink water when it wants. The dog staying hydrated is more important than you not knowing how to potty train it. OP always have water available for your animals.

They typical commands of a stern "no, drop, down" do not work.
dogs aren't born with an understanding of english. they learn these "typical" words from repetition followed by showing them the desired behavior you would like them to follow.

typical techniques of two finger tapping the nose with "DROP" or squeezing her snout when she is biting a hand/finger too hard DO NOT WORK.
this is not the typical technique to get a dog to stop biting your hands. puppies are going to do that, and if it gets too rough, you get up and walk away which will show them that you don't approve of that.
... jesus I could go on with your post but just give it to someone who will know what to do with a puppy

That's easy to fix. But, for future reference, it does that because you never took the toy away from it while it was a puppy.
When I got my dog, he was a puppy. People would come over and thought I was "being mean" because I would just take his toy away (while he was playing with it) for no reason. I would wake him up. I would pull his food and water away. I wasn't being mean. I was conditioning him. Now, I can give him a treat and take it right out of his mouth. My son can go near him while he's eating and the dog won't growl. If you give the dog too much space, it will become territorial. That's when they can become aggressive over things like toys and food.

You're obviously not capable of training it. I'd suggest taking it to someone who is

HOUSEBREAKING YOUR PUPPY OR DOG Now that you know "why", "where", and "when" your puppy/dog must defecate and urinate, you can understand the importance of the procedure I am about to give you. This procedure takes about 7 to 10 days. In the wild, your puppy/dog may only eat or drink once a day. They do not spend their whole day by the river or stream. They run in the fields and hills, spending most of their time by their dens. You will not be able to housebreak you puppy/dog if you keep water and food down all of the time. Every time your puppy/dog eats or drinks anything, they must urinate or defecate. So if they drink 40 times a day, they must urinate 40 times a day, and so on. By giving the puppy/dog all of the food and water he or she wants once in the morning and once in the evening, their bodies will be more than satisfied. This is more than they could ever hope to receive out in the wild. With each meal, the puppy/dog should receive all of the food and water he/she desires. The meal should consist of 50% canned dog food and 50% dry dog food. If the puppy/dog eats everything in the dish, give him/her more until they leave a mouthful of the meat mixture. Only after the puppy has eaten, give him/her all the water he.she wants to drink. Again, if they drink everything... they need more! Once the puppy/dog has had all he/she wants to eat and drink, it's time for the puppy/dog to go outside to urinate and defecate.

I've had dogs my whole life (I'm 41) and have never had the issue before. I always take toys away and also do the same thing with their food. I will take it away and play with it when while they are trying to eat.
That dog was just plain turning mean and I am not playing that game.

As a dog owner, it is your responsibility and not your 6 year old son to do research to find out if the dog YOU selected is the right fit for you and your family.
To clarify, my 6 year old "wanted" a dog. I KNEW he was not going to care for the thing. Just help and be a somewhat active participant. I knew my wife and I would be doing the lions share of the work. I did not expect to roll out a puppy and say, "here you go". My son then taking over and doing everything.
I did expect more participation from him. Not cleaning piss and shite or preparing food and deworming meds. But I was surprised at his interest level being so low. Even for playtime. He seems more put off by the dogs size and clumsiness. Live and learn.
For now I have a stake driven into our yard and have a 10' length of wench chain for her to roam. I throw beer bottles at her and lit cigarettes. I don't smoke but she seems to respond to them and it completes the white trashiness.

Da Fuq???
Did I tell you my dog is retard willed? I think she, like a chicken, would eat until she died.

Our other 2 family dogs were "grazers" meaning a bowl was just left out and they ate whenever. Almost like a damned cat. Especially our first who we recently (5 months) had to put down. I hold all dogs to her standard. Her puppy damage report consisted of one chewed up leg of a bed and one PlayStation control cord. That was it. I set the bar too high I know.

So is this a "thing"? you kill strays? Your legend has preceded you. If you have that many strays you must have wild hogs nearby as well to quench your bloodlust.

Puppies can be tough.

Also, I am leaving out our chihuahua. She is in average Mexican Woman health. Which is to say at 50-60 its pretty shitty.
This puppy will roll her up soon, so I feel bad for her as well. Ain't just about me.
I appreciate the input thus far, and a big FAH-Q to all those being unhelpful.

I know this. I can't even show her the desired behavior. I honestly think I may have the Marley and Me dog.
Getting her 12 week shots this week and gonna go from there. Gotta decide quick while she is still cute. If I took her to CAPS right now she would not make 2 days before someone adopted her.

You're a fricking idiot. The dog is too young to be bitching about what you're bitching about.

It is getting better, but again this dog is by far the worst I have had. Understand I am comparing her to MY previous puppies. Not all puppies.

What the hell? I have a pure breed and a mutt and the mutt is insanely a better behaved dog.
Both are great dogs all in all and we've worked hard to get them here but pure bred vs mutt is stupid.

I know. I've never heard this about a mutt. My best dog was a Terrier mix. Rat/Jack Russel and something else?

The pack mentality is the biggest crock of shite ever. The guy who coined it came out a few years ago and said he was wrong. Wolves live like a family. Cesar Milan is an idiot.
