That was the first LSU game I attended

It paused the start of my fandom for a couple of years

My 10th grade year our varsity football team went 1-9 and got hammered. We graduated all the bad attitudes and went 9-1 the next year.

In u17 soccer one year we had a final league game in Baton Rouge against Mandeville that nobody on our team wanted to play. We show up with 12 players, including two U15 guest players. The game was a joke minutes after the first whistle and Mandeville ended up winning something like 15-0. I didn’t care since I was already in Baton Rouge with another team but some of our parents who foolishly thought their daughters were D1 material were livid.

Same here. I was lucky to be on some good grade school and high school teams. We did the arse stomping.

Although we dished out numerous arse stompings in HS football (only lost 8 games in my 4 years), a couple of baseball ones stand out.

I remember playing Lawtell High School in baseball my junior year at home. We had a good team and they were bad. I remember watching their pitcher warm up on the mound thinking, “He’s just lobbing the ball. There’s no way that’s as hard as he throws.” Well I was wrong. It was like he was throwing batting practice. In the first inning, we batted around 3 times. I was 3 for 3 in the first inning.

It was so bad. After I think we scored 34 runs in the first couple innings they called the game.

Too many to list. Matter of fact we only scored 1 TD the entire season.

Not just a game. My sophmore and junior years I was on a football team that went 11-1, and 10-2 respectively. (Both teams were senior heavy teams.) My senior year we went 1-9 and got poleaxed in 8 of those games. To this day, in the 80 year history of our school, my senior class is the only varsity football team to post a losing record.

Not sure if this counts but when I was younger I played for an industrial league softball team and a concrete company team beat us 24-4.

I coached high school football for quite a while...I took a job at a brand new high school where the county admin thought it would be a great idea to have a new high school with no senior class to play established high schools in our area...we were pummeled regularly, of course, with the worst score being 77-0. The halftime score was 49-0 and their head coach came across the field before the second half kickoff to say "Good job the first half coach...just letting you know that we are throwing the ball in the second half to get ready for the playoffs"...I swear that he was pulling kids from the tuba section to play during the 4th quarter...

I played at a very small school in 1990 that was pretty bad in every sport. The worst drubbing took place in baseball. We played the team that eventually won state on their field.

On the hour drive to the game, the coach announces on the bus he is starting a freshman at pitcher that never started before. Half the team was already checked out, and when this was announced, a few guys in the back decided their post game alcohol they snuck on the bus would now be the pregame alcohol.

Being the away team, we bat first and go three and out on nine pitches, all three Ks.

We start on defense in the bottom half and by now, half the team is drunk. The first three batters hit easy pop flies to the outfield, but both OFers were so drunk they just let the ball drop while laughing. The coach got pissed, called a huddle, and began to see who was drinking. He then removed those five normal starters and replaced them with freshmen.

Fast forward an hour later....

The score is 25-0, no outs, and we had like 16 errors.....still the first inning.

We stopped the game after the second inning. Think the score was 39-0. There were no outs at the time during the stoppage.

Yup, was on a team around 9 or 10 that lost every game one season. Best player broke his leg during a game so we were even worse after that happened.

Thought I was a pretty good tennis player in my youth, till I went to John Newcolbe’s place for some instruction.

14 year old west German kid was there, beat me like I stole something.

He went on to win Wimbledon. Boris Becker.

We played a town called Alma in 99 or 2000 can't remember now. They won the state that year. We were down 44-0 at half. Coach comes in the locker room and says boys We can get on the bus and leave right now. Does anybody want to do that? My dumbass raises my hand. Was told to stand outside the locker room while the rest of the team got a motivational speech. I got an arse chewing after the fact.
