We have a diverse population, so I understand why we produce politicians who have lax immigration standards.

Sure but all these inner cities with high crime rates had crime rates just as high in the 2010s and were even higher in the 90s.
The reason they’re issuing these particular travel warnings are more for political reasons rather than these high crime places that have been dangerous for decades now
