Hell no your response doesn't define you. A Father isn't defined by blood. He wasn't your father. He was simply a sperm donor whose name you barely knew. There's not a single reason you should have any feeling about this other than sympathy for yourself and not him. It's his loss, not yours because he didn't know you.
You had absolutely fabulous parents in your grandparents you raised you. That's the man who is your Father! It sounds like they were awesome and raised you right!

Thanks to the guy from the running thread that reached out personally...Im laced up and back on the road..running does clear the mind
I've read every post here and I appreciate the comments & I'm pulling for the men and women in similar situations.
My emotionless response is 100% fine and the one final thing I can do is raise his granddaughter to the best of my ability and break the cycle.
And no, he was not secretly a rich barron leaving me millions
