It’s best not to focus on it.

Or else remember: the only thing that happened is you didn’t die. You live, you get older. It’s that simple.

I have, but i also realize that i’ve had more good years than a lot of people get. I was in a bad accident a few years back and thought that was it. I realized that i was middle aged. Too old to “die young.” There was some comfort in that. Then i didn’t die and i was fking ecstatic.

I’ll be 74 in 2 weeks so I’m definitely in the 4th quarter, kinda sobering to think about it.
I can’t complain though,my health is good, take no meds, can still get out and do things I want to do.Killed a 7 pt buck this morning, not a trophy but I was happy with him,125 yds ,dropped him in his tracks.

A good many of my high school classmates have died, several others have had heart attacks, bypass surgery, knee replacements, all kinds of ailments.
One of my best friends is a wreck, hobbles around with a cane,no way he can go hunting anymore.

Once I get where I can’t do what I want, can’t drive or operate my tractors I’ll be ready to go.

Men die young in my family. I don’t think I’ll make it to 65 so I’d say I’m over halfway.

Oh well.

A life mile marker is the onset of sciatica nerve pain across the butt muscles.
when it first started at age 60, I researched it and found that there is approximately 15 reasons for the pain and treatment may work on one of the causes. My country doctor agreed with the assessment and we agreed to just suck it up.

Strangely it gets easier to deal with the older you get. Seems it would be more angsty.

On my 35th bday I wrenched my back and couldn’t get off the floor for about 30 minutes. Now I’m 44 and every time I sneeze I worry about pulling a muscle. The flexibility really goes first.

About 6 months ago I jumped off the tailgate of my truck rather than stepping off like I'm almost 47. I had to scuff my arm all up to prevent a full face plant into my driveway

At 72, I fill the bill on the mentioned categories. I truly feel I'm living well past my shelf life, especially if going by my dad's side of the family where he and none of his 4 brothers or 3 sisters lived much past age 60.

As for driving, my current 06 Silverado certainly should outlive me since it only has 75K on the odometer, so I will likely die still owning that truck and someone down the line will get a nice, lightly used vehicle.

I don't think it sucks balls, it's just how the circle of life works. Everything that lives eventually dies, some just do it longer than others, but we all do it.
