Electric with minor in software engineering/programming.

Take extra year. Get double major.

This is not the same thing as saying "force is the second derivative of position with time" (your original post)

you are saying force is proportional to the second derivative of position with time

Furthermore, that equation comes from the simplified version of Newton's second law. If you wanted to get down to first principles, it's "force is equal to the first derivative of linear momentum with respect to time"; which is a constitutive equation and not in need of a derivation (which is something you claimed us mere engineers don't cover). You can find more complicated models such as the Einstein Field Equations that will simplify to this model assuming macroscopic rigid bodies moving at nonrelativistic speeds to “derive” Newton’s Second Law; but that’s really not the point. The point is that your original post was inaccurate and you spouted that inaccuracy while being arrogant as all hell about it and refuse to admit you were wrong.

Honestly man, you are supposed to be a physicist? You are acting like a clown.

The fact that you don't know or are pretending not to realize that "proportional to" is not the same as "equals to" kind of tells me everything anyone would ever need to know about your abilities as a physicist or an engineer, tbh

the arrogant facade and inability to admit you are wrong just makes you annoying on top of it all

He will not admit he is wrong ross, he never does.

He says dumb shite all the time and never owns up when called out.

Gaston you said you were right about everything, but yet you said engineers aren't approaching 100k after 5 years...dude you are way the frick off on that. Hell I am only 5 years out and make way more then that as a civil, of course as I explained I was much older and had tons of experience. Most chem e are coming out of school making 85+ and at places like Exxon, 95+. That is starting pay.

Almost everything you said in this thread is completely wrong. It's why you failed in your field and are trying to hack it as a engineer. It's why you think only manager make 100k, because you are not good at engineering, just like you apparently where not good as a physicists.

Did you realize his son is only 15 but has already kicked a field goal from 3/4 mile? Kid plays first chair violin, throws a 98mph change-up and is Grand Master in chess. Also had excellent penmanship.

Its not ME/PetE/ChE, but getting my Civil Engineering degree has been a great choice for me, specifically focusing on structures.

Getting a bachelor & masters in structures with your PE license will make the prospects of someone being unemployed very low. There will always be demand for a structural engineers.

I’m sure you aren’t actually an idiot in real life, but you have made a complete fool of yourself here.

There are too many MEs graduating right now. PetEs are all from SA. Go with ChE.

How? I simply said science is the WHY to the engineering equations.

Just because y’all gang up and attack me mercilessly doesn’t mean that I’m wrong. I’m a failure...on and on. IDGAF.

And you...we derived equations of motion all through mechanics based on the second derivative of position with respect to time...and your attacks are based on me not saying proportional during my point that basic sciences form the basis for core engineering equations and that’s more interesting to study...and it’s like I kicked a black baby.

Engineering is a science man, and trying to act like it isn't is a big problem when you expect people not to be confrontational with you. There is an entire methodology that is predicated on the scientific method behind everything we do. I work in research and development, we are forced to always look at the fundamental constitutive equations and build up from there. Acting like engineering is not a science, but is instead a cookbook that people work off of without an intuitive understanding of what is inside of it is just incorrect. Of course some jobs are out there that work like that and they do not pay as well and employ the bottom of the barrel students, but it's not the majority and definitely not in the industries I participate in.

You kinda brought it on yourself by being more than a little insulting and arrogant about your scientific background only to flub the most fundamental of kinematic definitions. I know it happens to the best of us, but it's hard to take up for the guy acting like a jackass.
