I'm really happy that we are an equal opportunity state. Anyone can grow up riding the short bus and eventually be a councilman if they just put their mind to it.

Or mayor-president.

I had gone all this time without seeing one single Broome sign. I guess I just don’t go to the areas which support her

Because these are the pressing issues EBR faces.

EBR finished near the bottom again in education, but did you see how devoid of political signs that median was?

What is it you think the EBR metro council does?

People like that only do that because no one was at the house.

What sort of trash human would get in someone's face for removing political signs from the median?

If you think he was "acting tough" then you suck at perception.

Dang it. Those signs are great to use for target shooting. Used to collect them for that.

I am sure that Karen has a receipt for the dumpster that he placed all of his signs in. He would surely not be guilty of illegally dumping his haul in a dumpster that somebody else is paying for.

The parish council has absolutely nothing to do with the school system.

Guy is a councilman that passed ordinance that disallows putting campaign signs on public property. Then proceeds to do the ‘dirty work’ himself by taking down said signs.

I too agree with vigilante justice. We have seen how well it works this past summer.

That's your gripe. Not public spaces being littered with propoganda, but whether or not they go into a dumpster paid for by Hudson? Also, how small are your trash cans? Because those can easily fit in mine.

What?
Shitty people on the council and mayor of of a shitty city and it has "absolutely nothing" to do with how the school board is able to perform?

So you are considering Hudson a vigilante now? One guy said he was "acting tough" and you are calling it vigilante justice. You people leave some very soft and protected lives.

I was simply pointing out that the people that make the rules sure as heck think they are above obeying those same rules, and that example is how we got to CHAZ.

Earlier this year I ran for and won a seat on the Lafourche Parish School Board. I was amazed at the number of regulations concerning the placement of campaign signs. I don't know anything about how and where the signs he removed were located but it would not surprise me if they were indeed placed illegally based upon the regulations.

If you read the ordinance, it says signs placed in right of way are “rubbish” and can be removed and disposed of by anyone. So, the only reason this is news is no one, including Scotty Hunter, has actually read the law.

The school board is completely independent from the Metro Council. The only thing they have in common is most of them are morons.

ETA: I guarantee you Gravy's Gang harassed and threatened the recently-resigned school superintendent because she wasn't from "the community."

I personally believe all campaign signs should be banned from public ground. It's trashy AF.

I'm glad he picked them up. They are illegal in the right-of-way. I pick them up in front of my hood every couple weeks. Use them for target practice as someone else noted.

quote:

Many people in this parish have permits to put the signs where they currently are, I don’t think that he should be the proper person that should be doing this. So I just think he needs to focus on his race, and let the proper authorities pick up the litter, if it deems to be as such,” said Banguel.

You notice he doesn't say his candidates received the proper permits, he just makes a blanket statement that amounts to nothing. The City-Parish can't even keep up with their own regular maintenance. You think they have time to go around town determining who has a permit and pulling up signs? Good luck with that. The average citizen is the only one is going to police that.
