So how are they any different from the Mafia?

O it got better. They asked for more $ to continue patrolling after a few months at a low rate. I guess our introductory rate expired.

It kinda sucks that people look at law enforcement this way but shite getting out of hand. There are neighborhoods that hear multiple gunshots every night, but since we have chicken shite HOAs out there that get strong armed to pay, we seem to all of a sudden live in a "rising crime" area.
I felt bad for the people trying to sell their homes. Potential buyers witnessing sheriffs scouting every car that enters and writing tickets on parked cars. Kinda tough to sell the idea of a safe neighborhood.

So them shaking down parking lots of events where the attendees may have $ is what I expect to come of this. Sorry if I jump to conclusions when it comes to EBRSO.

Also I asked my deputy buddy why all the fuss over inspection stickers? Exact words (while sporting a shite eating grin) "it's an excuse to search the car, which if you pick em right always leads to something more."

How does the SO charge extra for patrolling an area within their parish?

Was this extra patrols requested by the HOA?

Great idea, burglar sees a "fail" on a car, aka green light to steal. Now they don't even have to check cars, police are doing the legwork.

Not sure how you check for an unlocked door without giving the handle a grab. Not all vehicles have the lock/unlock button on top anymore, many are down on the side of the door a few inches below the lip of the door, also tinted windows can hinder the cops' ability to see if its locked as well.

You can check a for a locked door with out opening it on newer vehicles.

On newer vehicles, if it is locked the door handle doesn't provide any resistance when pulled upon.

An unlock door, you can feel resistance within a 1/4 of an inch pull letting you know it is unlocked.

. I hate that rule especially if you are in front of your own house

You don't own the street. Same laws apply to everyone regardless of who owns the neighboring property.

I'm sorry you don't understand the law and why it exists.

Was just pointing out that you don't have to actually open the door to check if it is locked.

It just takes a small bump of the handle.

Wonder how long it will take a car owner to go after BRPD after they see a car is unlocked and leave it that way and the owner shows up saying the cops left his car vulnerable it got broken into

Here's a question for the homeowners in favor of this...

Are you in favor of them doing this at your house?

It sounds like you would be...

I leave my shite unlocked because nobody would be stupid enough to steal anything.

In reality this sounds so retarded. My buddy got his truck stolen from highland and staring at George's a few weeks ago. Cameras couldn't make out a face. He drove around for two weeks and found it off highland just south of gardere. Called the cops. They did nothing. He drove it home from there.
