I tried to. I even made a thread when lockdown started about how I was going to try to just shop and eat locally.
The eating thing is easy, although I've slipped a few times.
The shopping thing is near impossible. I needed a new specific gas cap for my car because it wasn't closing all the way. Local shops told me a few weeks, local O'Reilly had me waiting more than a week. Had to get it off amazon.
Computer was the same. Local shops suck. Best Buy was out of stock on most everything because of people needing to WFH all of a sudden. I had to order off amazon.
It's easy for clothes/housewares, but when you need a specific item it gets daunting.

I don’t understand this logic right now because EVERY business - big and small - is hurting. Shop local if you want but just shop!

Chains are owned by a local business owner and employ local citizens. Would you rather keep the shop that has one owner and three employees open or the one with an owner and 50 employees?
