Good Lord. AKA, schools are just looking to use up “disaster days” that haven’t been used yet.

They are providing glasses for all the high school students or excusing absences if the student stays home. We planned to head out to the lake to watch it but now it shows storms all day anyway. Sucks for my junior bc he will now be in school.

They don't want to be responsible for a bunch of misbehaving kids staring at the sun, and would also catch hell for not letting them watch?
