Those were the most terrifying books to me as a kid. The illustrations moved when I stared at them, or at least I swore they did. Still creeps me out a little to see them.

I was going to say werewolves also. I can remember being outside when the sun went down scared a werewolf was going to jump out of the woods.

I could not sleep in my bed with my neck exposed. I had to have covers over them. Like a damn blanket was gonna thwart a vampire attack

Most of these things are actually somewhat scary and certainly not dumb.
I was afraid of the Toilet Ghost in the bathroom right across from my bedroom.
I was also afraid of the dinning room table in our dining room.
If I had a nightmare, I had to run the gauntlet of the toilet ghost, the haunted dining room table to get to my parent's room.
See that's dumb.

Alice in Wonderland was creepy as hell to me as a kid.

My sister told me that sucking sound from a draining bathtub was Gremlins trying to get me.
I worried about lizard people after walking into the living room during an episode of V.
I was afraid of curling irons after a Halloween episode of facts of life.
Steam irons after the fire safety video in 2nd grade.
I should have never watched tv, basically.

Was terrified of getting a haircut as a little boy. There was a creepy styrofoam head at the barber and for some reason I thought it was a real head. I thought the barber was surely going to cut my head off too.
