I don't care if porno is empowering to anyone. I love it and I salute this chick for contributing.

Exactly. There are hundreds of porn stars out there. Why this girl being one matters to anyone is beyond me. All I can imagine is because she is relatively intelligent and because she is a college student. After all, the buzz came from students (possibly even the Greek community) finding out.

I just don't understand why someone would care about someone they don't know doing porn. And then I ask.. are all these people claiming they don't watch porn? I mean, they're up in arms about this chick doing porn.. so are they saying they hate porn? Chances are, these college toolbags at her school jerk it plenty to porn.
I also wonder if these people are spending their free time rallying against other porn stars? Are they tracking down Bree Olsen and telling her what a horrible waste of life she is? Not likely.

No. Nice try though. LL's specific response to me was, IMO, her seeming to take it too personally, because I have not alleged that I really care, in particular, about this girl. But, if you want to be ignorant and try to ignore how porn is viewed in our society, whether rightly or wrongly in your opinion, in an attempt to kid yourself in not understanding how people could react in this way, then help yourself.
For the record, I, personally, don't know why this story is "newsworthy," but it is, and I'm just discussing it.

I agree, and I wouldn't refrain from employing someone over that.. but I was just agreeing that our society is pretty naive about that stuff and she will probably have a hard time unless she finds herself a very open-minded/liberal boss.

I don't want anyone to think I have a problem with this girl or her doing porn. It's a good way to make money and get through college with no debt. I just didn't like how she said it was empowering because I think that's bullshite.

It's not like she would put "Porn Star 2010-2014" on her resume', though. However, all an employer would have to do is Google her name (if he/she even decided to go that far).
