OH.. that's different. Kid's old enough to know better. Still wouldn't have called the cops, though... because, well, what can they really do?

The cop wrote it up and all is good. He said this is very common and he agreed the door more than just a tiny ding.

As for letting it go, frick that. I didn't drop 45k on a truck for some shithead who can't keep his cum spawn in check. I'll sue him if I have to.

No attorney is taking on some bullshite door ding on a contingency basis. You will end up paying more attorney's fees upfront than you could collect.

You don't think you can file a civil suit without an attorney?

It's a truck, it's supposed to be a little dinged up.

Go ahead. I think it is $400 to file plus your time and effort. Then you have to win and collect.

Or you could get the ding fixed for less yourself.

Sorry bro, your only chance of the cops caring is if this happened in a PetSmart or Dunkin Donuts parking lot.

To the OP, my mom did that to my Beemer once. I still have the fricking mark on my car, but I can't hate my mom... it just teaches you that material things are fallible... life is about relationships.

They do not pay them upfront. You have to pay to file. Then you can get a judgment for court costs if you win. But guess what, you have to collect those along with your other damages.

Go try to pick up that young lad's mother. Maybe she'll make it even for you?
