That is the plant’s sporange.
Without it, whole ecosystems could be devastated.

This is wrong in part. The tomato is native to the New World, so no Europeans had ever seen one in "medieval times." It is true that in the wake of Columbus, Europeans were skeptical about tomatoes (they're related to the genuinely poisonous nightshade plant). In the parts of northern Europe where they grow poorly and so were rarely encountered, people continued to think tomatoes were unfit to eat through the 19th century.

Nine banded armadillos give birth to quadruplets every time. A female produces a single egg that, once fertilized, splits into four genetically identical embryos that share one placenta.

It was thought to be poisonous during medieval times due to a big reason. The serving dishes of the rich of the time were made of pewter which had a very high lead level. Since tomatoes are high in acid, the acid caused the lead to come out into the food causing lead poisoning.

I believe a part of it is, though just mildly.

Female muscles and tendons contain more elastin, this gives them greater flexibility on the whole vs. men. The curvature of the lower spine also spans across 3 vertebrae in the female body and over only 2 vertebrae in the male body. This gives them greater flexibility and range of motion in the lower back and pelvis.

Much like the tomato, the potatoe is a New World veggie and was viewed with suspicion when brought back to Europe. Also, most famines in Europe were not really crop failure, but the land owners demanding so much of the serfs crop that there was a lack of food for the growers family. The Lords and Barons were fat and happy.
