POS was not only drunk, but I'm guessing had some prior legal issues due to the switched plate.
On the radio, they reported that the three men were knocked off the expressway onto the ground below.
What a terrible, unnecessary way to die. Push your own car off to the side of the road with the assistance of others who stop to help you, and you all get killed.

Three men were killed Sunday night (June 16) in a multi-vehicle crash on the elevated Westbank Expressway, according to Louisiana State Police. Authorities believe the fatal crash was caused by an impaired driver who has since been arrested.

Todd Williams, who was injured in the crash and hospitalized, has since been arrested. He faces multiple charges, including three counts of vehicular homicide, three counts of vehicular negligent injuring, not wearing a seatbelt and switching his vehicle’s license plate, the release said.

I didn't read the article, but there is a very good chance he has a long history of drunk driving.

Likely correct. We throw people in jail for a long time for smoking a joint, yet are insanely lax when it comes to drunk driving.

Because DUIs are about making money, not public safety
I know a baw on his 4th DUI, has never been jailed more than overnight but has paid thousands in court fees on top of lawyer fees

Make it a life sentence to be at fault in a deadly car accident when you’re over ~.18 or so.
Stop arresting people who are driving perfectly normal at .08 simply to take their money.

Vote was 8-4 to decriminalize marijuana like New Orleans had done. Possession under 14 grams is now just a $40 fine for first offense, $60 for the second offense, $80 for the third.

I don't think I've ever driven on the elevated expressway when there wasn't some horrible accident.
Two weeks ago, I almost plowed into the back of a woman whose car was stopped in the middle lane right before the Stumpf exit. She had her flashers on, but I didn't see her until the car in front of me swerved at the last minute.
On my way back to the eastbank, I saw billowing smoke in the distance. When I got closer, I realized someone had indeed plowed into the back of that poor lady's car. Both cars were engulfed in flames. I hope she made it out ok.
