I'm thinking of getting a Phantom 3 Standard. Video quality isn't that important to me, are there any other features that are often used that are going to make me regret not going advanced or pro? TIA.

I've been debating on getting a Phantom 3 as well as a starter drone, but the more I read into the Mavic Pro, the more I want it instead. I know it's double the price, but reviews make it seem like it's extremely easy to learn to fly.

Probably not. I'm not really an expert on these but I have the pro and it was a gift. If that standard has the same spec feature that can compensate for wind in a steady position, youre' all good IMO.

I think standard may not have the 3mile range that the professional does, but that's about it

I just read up on it, as i am about to purchase a new one. From what I read, there is a recall on them due to loosing power in mid flight.

A better choice would be the DJI MAVIC PRO. It has similar features, but it is by a proven drone company. I just wouldnt trust any brand to come out with a drone and get it right on the first try.

Ill be putting a pre-order in for one today and selling my DJI phantom 3.
