There was a young man around 19 or 20 having a video interview w TV in Tyler earlier. He was coming up on hour 7 of being stranded like the rest on I20. It's a mess out there.

There is zero reason to attempt a long drive like that at this point until roads clear up, supplies at gas stations replenish and ice totally gone.

I'm going from Nola to Dallas on Saturday. Hoping the roads are ok by then. I have to be at work on Monday.

we are barely getting above freezing today, and will get back down to the teens again tonight for another hard freeze

its supposed to get into the 40s tomorrow, so the ice should be melting by tomorrow afternoon, but its going to be a slushy mess

just know that its probably going to take you double what it normally does

Louisiana has 1-20 and 1-49 shut down. It's pathetic, none of their streets are plowed. I had to drive on backroads yesterday on my way to Ohio. As soon as I crossed into Arkansas the roads were plowed and clear.
