I left Pensacola at 6:30 am Thursday and headed to Mobile then over to Opelika and then to Denham Springs. Got home at 8:30 pm. Come back with your puss story when you drive anywhere near 14 hours.

Worst part was the 2 hour delay on I12 from Mandeville to Holden.

Especially the newbies going through tunnel blowing their horns. Just venting

Last time we drove through the tunnel, some a-hole was constantly blowing their horn. Didn’t know this was a thing….

I thought they were honking at someone…

I’d rather have a colonoscopy livestream than be within 250 miles of Destin right now.

That is my favorite part of driving from Baton Rouge to Orlando. After you past Destin, it is a boring arse drive with nothing to look at afterwards.

Gulf shores to baton rouge on a Sunday is absolutely fricking miserable

It wouldnt be bad if you could leave at 7am and not stop at buccees. But, if course, you cant leave till 1030 and you must stop at buccees, so you are fricked.

Ain't no stopping at buccees... might hit Logans in Spanish Fort, but the tribe already knows no Buccees on the way out... we already bought our Dolly Parton black vinyl painting, cast iron bacon press, and Darth Vador socks on the way here... The Ole Lady is begging for a farmhouse sign that says LAUNDRY, but I think I convinced her I can make it at home... it's 50/50 at this point

Only two options:

Drive in the right lane going 50 behind some slow truck.

Drive 90 in the left lane with someone two feet off your arse that wants to go 95.

We go every year. Kids, grandkids, in laws, friends. From Dallas. We go to the Refuge in Flowood now, get there Sunday, play golf Monday. Go to Battle House Tuesday in Mobile, play golf Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Leave Mobile and get to Destin Saturday morning before traffic is bad. Play golf Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Play golf Saturday morning, my kids wives and my wife take kids to Baytowne Wharf and play around until we are done. Traffic is usually lighter when we leave. Stay in Renaissance Park in Ridgeland Saturday. Come home Sunday.

I blow that horn every time I go through that or any other tunnel. Been doing this for years.

I’ve never heard of this. Do you also clap when the plane lands? There are just some very odd “cultural traditions” that missed out on picking up, and I’m not sure why.

I do it everyday of the work week. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays are the worst. I try and avoid anything on I10 from Mobile to Buc-ee's on the weekends. Non stop Texas and Louisiana license plates. There's the occasional MS tag of people who saved up for a decade for a weeks vacation in GS or OB
