Let's just make it easier for the CIA to take control of our cars

Hell NO, I wouldn't buy one. It freaks me out to think of them being on the roads.

It seriously amazes me that this is a thing. I don't get how they can go through things like construction zones or cops directing traffic and know what to do

I can't wait. I trust a computer way more than I trust most dumbass drivers.

Ultimately, once /if matched with proper infrastructure, autonomous vehicles are a game changer

Manually operated car insurance will eventually go through the roof. This is coming in the next 10 years whether you like it or not.

Dumb question - why is this needed?

Because people don't realize that they are bad drivers and are dumb enough to have to ask.

So what happens when you're cruising along the highway and that second coffee/breakfast taco comes calling? Asking for a friend

They can. But more often than not it will buzz the human driver to take the wheel when approaching a situation like that.

Anyone who is having a kid this year will never have to teach their kid to drive. Technology is fricking awesome.

There's a huge difference between a completely driverless car and this.
