Apparently the driver suffered a "medical episode".

quote:

Two people were sent to the hospital from a Race for the Cure walk near LSU Saturday morning after a driver crossing paths with crowd suffered a medical episode and drove into the crowd.

A participant was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries after a driver not affiliated with the race suffered from a medical condition while waiting to cross the street near West Lakeshore Drive and East Parker Boulevard, said Cpl. L'Jean McKneely, spokesman for the Baton Rouge Police Department.

McKneely said both were taken to the hospital, but there were no other injuries.

I hope that the injuries heal quickly for all involved.

On a side note, what's with all these race for the cure events? It seems the only disease that could be cured with a race would be Obesity and I never see a race for that.

It clearly states that the driver had some kind of medical problem. You show your arse in every thread that you comment in. I bet that you're a joy to be around

There was a guy in his Lance Armstrong gear riding down Old Perkins @ 9:30 this AM. There's 100 streets in SE BR that would be safer

It's a shite charity, literally #1 on the list of charitable organizations to avoid. They use all these races to pay for the private jet their directors fly around in.
