Really? So over the course of 20 years of investing and buying assets, someone wouldn’t even double their money?

They would. But you seem to be assuming they had that pile of money all at the start of the 20 years. It isn’t 250 million invested for 20 years.

And that he’s gonna lose 40% of that money before even seeing it.

So it’s ~6.5 million invested for 20 years

And in reality it’s even worse than that, because the heavy earnings was more towards the back end rather than evenly spread.

I always laugh at this simple minded take.
What you're referring to is slaves were counted as 3/5 of a person for the purposes of calculating representation, which they actually had zero.
Why would you want slaves counted as a full person when they shouldn't have been counted at all?
If you count them, you inflate the representative power to the federal government from the white people benefitting from slavery, damaging the abolitionist cause

I mean, yeah, history is important. We're not talking 500 years ago. We're talking about things a lot of people here were alive for. Things that laid a foundation that still hasn't been completely dug up yet.

Literally no one has refuted anything or said anything other than "you're radical" and "slavery isn't still legal today!"

Actually, I am, because my point isn't that America isn't/wasn't racist. Those slaves did exist, what they experienced was terrible, and the echoes of it still exist today in our current times, even though they're exploited for political power.

My actual point is that you're mouthing off on topics you don't understand like a dumbass. QED.

I'm happy to have a discussion. I'm not name-calling or dismissing arguments. You guys are smart, we can have a civil talk on here even with our contrarian histories.

So you and I wholeheartedly agree here, but you call me a dumbass?

I could write a book on liberal dumbass pandering. Identity politics from the right and worthless libs are pathetic.

No you aren't. You've busted out all the talking points. Just need to hit us with the "ultra MAGA" label, and you're indoctrination is apparently complete.

No, I wouldn't say wholeheartedly because while I agree the history of slavery affects the world today, that doesn't mean every fricking person who whines about their lot in life is justified in making it about 100+ year old history. Political charlatans take advantage of this to gain political power at the expense of everyone in our society including minorities.

And you're a dumbass because you're obviously just repeating talking points.

Just because you disagree doesn't mean I'm following talking points or indoctrinated. Y'all just want to dismiss any opinions that aren't yours.

Outside of places like this, nothing I've said is remotely radical.
