That building was a Blockbuster then F.Y.E.
It was Photon first. Then in 1989 it was Sound Warehouse. Blockbuster music bought it in the 90s. Then around 98 blockbuster Music was sold to Warehouse Music and it was Whitehorse for a few years. Then it changed to FYE and closed in 2017. Dragos came in in 2020.

I have never been there. If I’m Downtown I’ll give em a try.

Service, food, absolutely everything about it could not compete with every other option within minutes
They always seemed to have a crowd. But yeah it’s a huge building and IMO not great for a restaurant.

fye lasted forever until it got phased out by technology.
All the talk about Bucees has three problems:
1. Baton Rouge is going to want it's cut. The demands listed by the Bucees owners for the two Louisiana locations are pretty absurd. I know for the Ruston location they said they wanted some type of business park/retail center than had to give 2% revenue to those locations, along with some other demands that would be hard for BR to want to get along with.
2. The building has space but there's no way you can fit more than 20 pumps in that parking. Absolutely no way are surrounding businesses (Crowne Plaza, Tio Javi's, Chili's, Hampton Inn) going to give up anything to make Bucees happen. You would need to tear down Hampton Inn and Chili's to make it worth the spot.
3. Road access is miserable. Only way to make it worth it would be having a service road that goes back onto I-10E from Constitution. Going I-10W would suck even more, and you'll likely have people wait to go to the Lafayette stop if it's more accessible.

Based on what? I see the owner in Baton Rouge all the time. Tommy is the owner

They need to really figure something out for the old Esplanade Mall (Subway, Hooters, etc). That place is less than half occupied and bleeding tenants. There's plenty of traffic, close to several offices and hotels. It's also a short drive to high-end Bocage. I don't understand why it's essentially abandoned.

Close your eyes.
That's why.

This is not the airport. Departure announcments are not necessary.

There has to be more to this. That location is huge. Who the hell else does the owner think will rent the space…. Unless Dragos wasn’t paying their rent.
Yeah, definitely more to this story.

Ate at the one on the river in the New Orleans last week. It was pretty bad. Won’t go back to it.
Yeah, that location sucks and is a tourist trap. The original Metairie location is still the GOAT tho.

Looks like Loft 18 is taking over that location.
