I’m all for live snd let live, but this is a terrible comparison. All of those other choices take the life of the individual and that’s that. A virus spreads. They’re very effective vaccines, but not perfect, so at some level you’re relying on your neighbor to protect you too.

Again, people can do what they’d like, but vaccines have basically always been about protecting the group more than the individual.

I've got the vaccine, and have a granddaughter living with me. She will not get the vaccine yet.

Systems favor the administrator, not the public. The lazy way to deal with these issues is blanket policy. I'll take the advice of my doctor, not some TV televangelist physicians.

I've been clear throughout, you got your feelings hurt because people think your ideology sucks.

Now we’re getting somewhere. What ideology are you referring to, specifically?

I have said in this thread:

- There are people like the subject of this thread that believe anyone not vaccinated is stupid, and should be coerced and lied to. They think it is ok because it is for their own good.
- I believe this is wrong. To be specific, I called this behavior unprofessional and unethical.
- I said the data does not support vaccinating children or those previously infected.

A highly credentialed infectious disease physician?

At a minimum, she’s more qualified than anyone else on the OT to lecture you on this topic

Too bad she fricked it up.

No one will listen to her now.

Medical professionals know medicine, they don't know about the economy, the psyche (unless they specialize in it) or millions of other things about life.

The way to prevent disease is exactly how they prescribed it. But it's dumb to move solely on infectious disease information. We should all be in plastic bubbles if we listened to medical professionals 100% of the time.

Politicians saw power, and acted inappropriately.

Yep, you would be stupid to believe anything she says now, without alternate opinions.

She should stick to fighting diseases.

Public speaking is not her bag.

She thinks not being vaccinated means you’ll die.

Her own words.

She’s not qualified to speak on COVID-19 at all.

I'm fine with businesses excluding non vaccinated or non masked adults.

Idk if you are being sarcastic or what but I’m sure the dr is knowledgeable on lots of things with medicine. I don’t doubt her smarts, I just don’t like her lying to the public to scare people and parents into getting their kids or themselves vaccinated.

Cut off her hair and it's Liam Neeson ...

If you choose to skydive you're choosing death. (or a minimal chance of it)

If you choose to give birth, you're choosing death (a small percentage of women die from childbirth)

If you choose to ride a motorcycle, you're choosing death.

No, lady, it's called evaluating risks and making choices.

When you destroy trust, it's destroyed.

She has allowed histrionics to affect her medical opinions.

It reminds me of lectures on skin cancer we got in med school from a dermatologist. They advocated wearing sunscreen on all exposed skin at all times, long sleeved clothes, a hat, the works. I asked what level of sun exposure they would consider ok? The answer was “zero.” I tuned out for the rest of the lecture and studied my text books.

Absolutely and it is the right of the consumer to do business there or not. I didn’t go into a wal mart for a year. I stopped wearing a mask in rouses in August of 2020. I’m fat. I smoke. I drink. I work in a highly carcinogenic plant. Still don’t have the covid. How’s Alaska this time of year baw?
