That's some acting chops there, IMHO. I don't think that a regular joe can muster up that kind of rage without having some natural acting talent.

The funny thing here is that Dwight Yokam actually has those 2 hangups.

I think about that almost every time I see a dually now.

Wish he'd acted more. Came here to post this.

Also, seeing Dwight at the Ryman next month!

Last time I saw him was a couple of years back--for some reason he played a really small club on the Tuscaloosa strip. It was awesome.

Its from after they play on the porch and get in the truck to go to the county line for more beer. It may be cut from the original movie. My dad had some directors cut DVD that I remember it on.
That's crazy I didnt know that was an added scene from the original version. First time I heard it I almost pissed myself laughing. My dad was a cop in a small AL town and I can see some of his buddies on the force saying that line with a straight face.

Doyle made it clear they’d run out of both.

I always thought Thornton had those hangups and wrote them into the character. Am I mistaken?

When Doyle mentions Frank’s dad’s suicide in mixed company, and Frank objects, saying “Don’t talk about my daddy like that,” Doyle responds with a drunken, mocking “‘Don’t talk ‘bout my deddy’” that legit sends chills up my spine. I know that guy.

Interesting. Definitely not in the original cut. And I can see why they cut it, though the line you're talking about is worthy.
