Yes!
When my daughter was a little girl we would go to the pzza place next to Blockbuster. Order our pizza, and go rent movies while the pizza was being prepared.
I guess what I miss the most is my little girl. She is a grown woman now. You can never go back.

The only thing I miss about Blockbuster is the immense feeling of power and prime importance when my mom would let me rent a game I knew there was only a few copies for a WHOLE WEEK!
For serious, muaahahahaha.

Sort of. Then I remember shite like paying sixty plus dollars to rent The Ref when my wife found under the back seat of her car a month and a half after we rented it.
To this day I believe Blockbuster could've survived an additional few years on late fees alone.

That candy and carpet smell...I get high off it.
For real, though, I do kind of miss video stores. Mostly just nostalgia of going there in my 18-early 20's years with a girlfriend and deciding on what to rent, knowing that we were probably going to start banging 10 minutes into the movie, then finish watching it in the afterglow.
Ah, I miss youth. Now I just silently pout after we start streaming the 88th movie she chose in a row.
I definitely wouldn't give up the streaming for the video store at this point, though.

I miss the movie warehouse days. I’d always go wander in the horror section, which has served me well in Halloween trivia for movie posters.
We eventually got a blockbuster in town but it was far away.

There visceral memories of the smell of ink & the paper texture of a freshly-printed Sunday paper/sports section...or holding a new vinyl album cover in awe of the photo/artwork/liner notes...or browsing the aisles in Blockbuster for a hidden gem on movie/pizza night.
All great cherished memories. Yet none of which I'd trade back for considering the almost-magical convenience of instant news, music & movies.

I used to love going to Blockbusters and stop at DQ on the way home to grab the blizzard of the month.

Movie World was our place in Abita Springs.
It was actually an "experience." It made it special.
Everything sucks arse now.

Nah. Having to pay monthly subscriptions for multiple streaming platforms that I never use and probably don’t have the movie I want to watch anyway is much better than just borrowing a movie for like $4.
