Dollar General store manager helped man plan armed robbery, police say

Christopher Riley, 27, and the manager, 26-year-old Kerry Hickman, planned an armed robbery of the shop located at 7055 Greenwell Springs Road, according to a Baton Rouge Police report.

Police say Hickman told Riley the time he should rob the store, where the safe was located, what manager would be working and who could open the safe. Police say two others, Demario Alexander and Nilaja Kelly, were involved in planning the robbery, but it does not appear that they participated in the actual act.

Riley entered the store just before 10 p.m., pointed a gun at the cashier and tried to rob the store, but the cashier ran, according to the report. Instead, he turned on a customer and robbed him of $11 cash, an iPhone and a wallet.
