I've always wondered who stocks the store. Every time I stop at one there is one middle aged overweight women working the register who looks like she would pass out after moving three boxes of Cheerios.
Sounds like she could move them through her bowels without any problem.

(But there would be an issue)

I generally avoid shopping there, anything I used to buy there now shows up on my doorstep courtesy of Amazon Prime.

They are the most disgusting stores I've been in. Merchandise, still in delivery boxes or loose, is always clogging the aisles or strewn about the floor.

I’ve been in some good ones but they’re usually ones in a bigger town with plenty of customers so they have more employees. Rural ones usually only have 1 or 2 employees that have to manage the register, shelf stocking, etc. that’s why they end up cluttered. But it cuts down costs and when you’re the only store for miles nobody really cares what it looks like

DG is the location of choice for rural robbers. One near me has been robbed maybe 12 times. The guys come out of the woods behind the store, rob them and then run back into the woods. Cops found a path through the woods to a road maybe 500 yards behind the store. IMO, a long run for maybe $100.00.

I’ve sat at the register for 5-8 min waiting for an employee to check me out. I’ve thought how easy it would be to just walk out with merchandise and they’d likely not care or notice

was told their goal is to erect one every 6 miles from one to another.

Yeah, I did a group project in college and we ended up getting to interview some sort of district manager from corporate who was over a few southern states. Like you said, he told us that they wanted to just absolutely blanket areas with stores. It might have been 6 miles but I can't remember the exact distance but it averages out to something like that according to population in the area.

For example, I live in a town of just over 20,000 people over roughly 30 sq miles. Inside the city limits there are 4 stores and the adjacent town has at least 3 that I know of. Two of the stores in my town are less than 2 miles apart on the same highway.
