Being “normal” is being a fat arse. Do something hard, other than heroin of course, for once in your life

This board often surprises me, but I'm pretty shocked by how many people in this thread are unaware of the benefits of fasting.

Do people not read at all anymore? I suppose you do not even need to read...if you're attempting to better yourself or be healthier, it should reach people through social media feeds or Google searches.

Most people have gotten into the position to appeal to drastic measures because they have a shitty lifestyle and inherited shitty genes.

sorry baw, I don’t need ticker tocker to be shredded.

I ain’t been to the gym since the once I went back in 2023, and I have a visible 6pack, can prolly run a 50 min 10k, and not need to starve for an extended weekend. Sucks your folks gave you shitty genes like Mingo

Fasting isn't drastic. And the studies/literature out there is vast and pretty difficult to refute at this point.

Many of the heathiest and in shape people in the world fast because of the health benefits it offers beyond living an already healthy lifestyle.

ETA Never mind, didn't realize you were such a douche. I'll ignore you now.

Personally, if I was a convicted felon who’s supported by his (alleged) in laws, I wouldn’t talk shite.

But I also wouldn’t be a convicted felon so it may just be a fundamental difference

Just realize you're coming into this thread right off the street without having done any research. This isn't a weight-loss thread.

You're saying that the stored sugars in a glycogen molecule don't count as stored sugars?

No. What I said is true. Our body don't STORE sugar. It first CONVERTS it to another form of carbohydrate (glycogen, a polysaccharide) by way of a glycosidic bond and then stores it as such. It's readily available to convert back to sugar by breaking the carbon oxygen bonds it uses to hold the monosaccharides together.

Glycogenesis and hydrolysis of glycogen back to simple sugars is an important step that shouldn't be over looked. Why? Because it takes energy in the form of ATP and UTP to covert simple sugar to glycogen. The fact that it was overlooked, makes a difference to someone who's has a biology degree and has actually taken physiology, chemistry and organic chem. Why don't you do a little research on WHY the body doesn't store simple sugar molecules in the cells and get back to me.

When going into an extended fast (48/72 hours) is it better to eat “normal” in the day or two leading up to it? Big(ger) meal as your last meal before starting the fast or small?

I’d think a bigger meal may have a negative effect by expanding your stomach and making the fake hunger signals creep in faster

With fasting your body will burn stored carbohydrates, then stored fat and excess proteins. Yes, long term fasting without exercise may lead to muscle loss.

Better?

Also drink chicken or beef broth after the first day to maintain or prevent muscle loss.

Fasting is fricking retarded.

Its another fad like carnivore that people do because they refuse to make overall lifestyle changes.

Lift weights, stop eating like an a-hole and drinking alcohol, get 7-8 hours of sleep, optimize hormones, and you will see results
