My daughter said she learned that when dogs play fight, they will sneeze. This is them laughing.
I was thinking “whatever”, until I’ve noticed my dog does this. She play fights all the time and every so often, she sneezes.

Anyone know if this is fact or ever noticed this as well?

My dog sneezes all the time when we play but I think it's because she has sinus problems and allergies. Getting excited while playing just aggravates her nose. I know this because she rubs her paw over her nose and also rubs her head on the furniture.

Yes and a coworker told me, when you’re playing with your dog, you can “sneeze” to let them know you’re playing. I’ve never tried

Dogs do that to show that they aren't being aggressive, they're being playful.

quote:

One way to confirm that they are simply playing is by sneezing, along with exhibiting various dog facial expressions and special body language.

They smile or pull up their upper lips and it tickles their nose causing them to sneeze.

My dog smiles when he’s happy and does this.
