They are so damn loyal. I wish she would understand that it's okay to go.
It's hard my man. I had a male and he was so damn proud his whole life. But he trusted me with his well being. With that trust, I had to do what's best. @ 17, his was having trouble getting up and walking. I woke one morning to him have pissed all over himself and his bed.
That was the end. I spent the day with him laying his head on my lap, let everyone say goodbye. And took him to the vet and absolutely stayed and was the last person he saw.
It took 4 years, but we now have a 1 yr old to replace him.
Consider yourself blessed, and honor your dog's love and trust in you when it's time.
God bless your family

Had to put down two in the same week just a couple of months ago.
Be with your friend until the end. They appreciate it.

I just couldn’t imagine not being with my dog if I had to put them down.
Couldn’t bear them not being able to see my face in those last moments. Imagine how scared and in pain they might be and their last human face they see is a stranger?? Absolutely not.

Losing a dog sucks. The good news is the pain eases unlike losing a real child.

I’m sorry for you. I have an English Bulldog. Don’t know what I’m going to do when she crosses over. She’s my best friend. I take her to work with me. Stay strong man

Sorry to hear this. We had to put our black lab down about a month after my mom unexpectedly passed away. Not sure if it made the loss of the dog that much harder, but it hit me like a ton of bricks.
I still can't bring myself to getting another dog nearly three years later.

This sucks. My mom has a black lab and we thought we were going to have to put her down this week. She couldn't walk. We took her to the vet on Monday, they ran test and confirmed she had diabetes. Started giving her insulin shots and she's walking around looking fine.

I am sorry. It is very difficult when the time comes.

Dogs are awesome. It's so difficult to lose them.

My boxer passed in March and I'm still not over it.

We had a catahoula and she passed away naturally last December. Now the lab. It's definitely tough. They were great dogs.

Yep. Have never put one that that I wasn't holding them in some way. My last one died at home, and I was in the floor beside her the entire night. No regrets. I owed it to her.

It's important to them that you are there during this time....have had 6 of my soul mates die during my lifetime. Every damn one is a gift from God.
