They do not last long and both times I have gotten flats, the tire was too badly damaged to drive on (thanks LA streets).

Mine lasted about 33K miles. ALignment another matter on trips back to Baton Rouge.

I got two words (kinda) or three letters for you, baw....Triple A, or AAA.

Roadside Assistance comes customary with most insurance carriers nowadays. I just can't rationalize waiting 1-2 hours for a third party to come and fix my tire when I'm perfectly capable of doing so in just a few minutes. If it wasn't for that scissor jack, I would've had that donut on and back on the road in 15 minutes. I've since remedied that buy ordering a hydraulic jack.

I used to be that way until everyone started driving fricking big arse SUVs. I also hope to never change another tire on the side of an interstate.

The roadside service I had with my Honda was useless. Tried to use it once and after an hour and a half I called AAA. 15 minutes later a dude rolled up. That was in a restaurant parking lot.

Volvo C70 came without one, but the S40 donut fits so I bought one. Wife has had to call AAA twice to change it for her, but they would not have had a spare to bring if there wasn't one in the car.

Yes, full-size spares. Also keep a small tire inflator, tire plug kit, and a can of Fix-a-Flat in each vehicle too.

When I get new tires I just have them keep the old one with the least wear and tear to use as a fullsize spare. I guess that wouldn't work with new cars if they don't come with anything to attach it to or a place to put it.

Chalk up another reason I'm glad my old car is still running and I don't have to get prison raped for some overpriced turd with an Ipad melded to the dash and a bunch of electronics that will crap out.

frick these retards that can't turn a key, shift gears, change lanes without checking a mirror or go five feet in reverse while looking over their shoulder. I guess at some point asking them to change a flat tire is like asking them to build an atomic bomb.

Jeep Grand Cherokee, of course yes.

It came with 18” wheels, the spare is a 17” wheel.

If I weren’t more than halfway done with it, I’d buy an 18” wheel for the spare.

Maybe on the next one, I’ll see what I get.

I buy Fix-a-Flat for all of my family members' cars. Unfortunately, it didn't work for my flat last week. I did have a donut, but where I fricked up was trying to get by with the included scissor jack.

102-degree heat index changing a flat with a scissorjack. Never again.

Agree. Bottle jack is on my list of things I transfer from old ride to new every time (along with window glass breaker, plastic gas can, windshield shade, jumper cables, tool kit, etc...).

FWIW - My car has a full-size spare.
